The 6th Herat International Women’s Film Festival is still planning to hold its 2020 edition as planned this September, despite fears around the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, which has cancelled or postponed festivals around the world. The president of the Herat International Women’s Film Festival has shut down the possibility of cancellation. But according to the festival management; In the worst scenario, the idea of going digital could be an alternative. More than 3,500 films from 123 countries have been submitted to the 6th Herat International Women’s Film Festival’s secretariat this year. Thematic diversity and the presence of films from major filmmakers will be the distinguishing features of this festival period from previous ones. These years, by accepting the largest number of films in two general sections (world cinema and women’s section), good films have been sent to the festival, which is a source of encouragement and joy for us.
